Idea 10 : Photographers CMS
The last thing most photographers want to think about is their website and content management system. We want to be shooting more pictures and doing the things we like doing. Figuring out how to shoe horn Wordpress into working with your photos is not ideal for most of us, using squarespace is a pretty good option and will be hard to beat. That said I did use a photography based CMS once that I really loved, it was called Koken. I’d love to learn from Koken and re-create some of it’s coolest parts.
The admin interface was my favorite, it had lots of abilities to sort and filter my photos, create albums or smart albums and update the site dynamically. Why dynamically you might ask, well because you could upload your photos from Lightroom and without adjusting your site the new photos would publish in the albums based on the filters automatically. If you set this up correctly you could keep your site updated with very little work.
I’d love to re-create this idea but also find a way to make it possible to make a living off it.
